Program Note II

A happy Thursday to all!

I know I promised two articles this week, including our first foray past the package films, but unfortunately there were some circumstances that kept me from doing those.

Don’t worry though! To stay on schedule, we will do a double feature next week. Then the week after will see my article on Mary Blair.

Thanks for your patience!

This Week: Vol.10

We’re done with package films!

We and the Disney studios are putting behind us the war and heading towards single-narrative features. This Thursday will see the stop at number 12: Cinderella!

But first, Notes On… will return on Tuesday with a profile on Disney Legend Mary Blair. She will be a huge influence at Disney for a long time, and she starts here, with this week’s film.

Since I’m in such a good mood and very excited for the next film, I thought I would share with you one more thing. Disney recently began releasing brand-new Mickey Mouse cartoons! Their first one, linked here features a little cameo appearance by a certain princess. Check it out, it’s very cute!

That’s it for This Week. Like always, subscribe on the left!

Gauchos, Anniversaries, and D23

I’m trying out something new this week. I had the opportunity to visit a fan-exclusive event at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. This was a special event held by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. It started out with these colorful flags outside the theatre.

All pictures were taken by me on my cell phone, and thanks to my friend Jacob for coming with me!

Can you name the characters?

This Week: Vol.9

Number 11 on our journey will post on Thursday. That, my friends, is The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad.

But on Tuesday, I’ll post a write-up of a special event I was able to attend through D23, the official Disney fan club. That was the D23 Fanniversary that arrived here in Phoenix on March 6 to the Orpheum theatre. It was a lot of fun and I’ll let you know how more about it!
